Gifts in Action - Stephanie Silosky

MEET STEPHANIE SILOSKY

Stephanie Silosky, a junior in the College of Fine and Applied Arts studying Music Education, and President of the University of Illinois National Band Association Student Chapter, is one of the 2005 recipients of one of these scholarships.

As President of the University of Illinois National Band Association Student Chapter, Stephanie and other members attend local schools' performances and provide encouragement and feedback to younger students just learning the skills they will need to perform and participate in bands. Stephanie has assisted with fundraising programs and other unique events to bring attention to music education and performance. Director of Bands James F. Keene wrote, “Stephanie has outstanding organizational skills… She was personally responsible for an amazingly successful year securing special grants and gifts-in-kind. The U of I chapter was hailed as a “model” by the National Board of Directors.”
