MEET THE MAYS

Alan May holds a master’s degree from the Institute; he is the past president of the ILIR Alumni Board, and the Senior Vice President of Business Integration at Pepsico Beverages and Food.

HOW THEY GAVE

Alan and his wife, Hope, established an ILIR student fellowship to encourage study in the area of international human resources. The fellowship is awarded annually to a suitable international applicant, or a domestic applicant with a demonstrated interest in international human resources. Preference is given to students with strong linguistic skills and academic or professional experience in a foreign country.

The inaugural fellowship was awarded in the fall of 2002 to Karolina Letunova, an honor student from the Russian Federation who graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berea College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Her language skills include fluencies in Russian and English, with limited skills in Spanish and French.
