The University of Illinois Advancement Internship seeks to increase and diversify the number of professionals in educational advancement and the experience will be primarily focused on the advancement program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, though exposure to the UI System will be included.

$7.5 Million Gift to the College of Media Establishes the Richard and Leslie Frank Center for Leadership and Innovation in Media

The College of Media at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign today announced that its students will benefit from a suite of enhanced professional experiences, thanks to a $7.5 million gift by Rich and Leslie Frank of St. Helena, California. The gift, the largest in the College’s history, will establish the Richard and Leslie Frank Center for Leadership and Innovation in Media.

Statement on the Blackbaud Data Incident

On July 16, the Foundation was notified of a security incident by Blackbaud, a leading provider of software and cloud solutions for the non-profit industry. Based on research, as well as forensic experts, Blackbaud believes the data was not disseminated or made available publicly before being destroyed. The information exposure incurred by the University of Illinois was limited to anonymized, aggregate data used in compiling performance and benchmarking reports. There was no exposure of any personally identifiable information of any University of Illinois constituent.

Donaldson Gift to the Illinois Leadership Center Makes History

The Illinois Leadership Center (ILC) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has received the largest outright gift in the history of Student Affairs at Illinois with a $1.17 million gift from Jane and William (“Bill”) Donaldson.

Susan J. Koch named chancellor emerita at UIS

The University of Illinois Board of Trustees on Thursday appointed outgoing University of Illinois at Springfield Chancellor Susan J. Koch as chancellor and vice president emerita. Koch has announced her retirement from UIS effective June 30. The appointment, which will be effective July 1, confers upon her these honorary titles, which reflect her longstanding service to the university and University of Illinois System.

University of Illinois Board of Trustees Chair commits $100K for UIC’s frontline health care workers

University of Illinois Board of Trustees Chairman Don Edwards and his wife, Anne Edwards, both alumni of the University of Illinois, have pledged $100,000 to establish the UI Health Employee Relief Fund, which will support health care workers at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System, or UI Health.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to do our best to stay connected to our donors while also looking out for the health and well-being of our employees. We have canceled events, taken measures to allow many of our staff members to work remotely, reduced in-person meetings, and restricted non-essential travel.

Gov. Pritzker Highlights Vision for Innovation and Economic Development with $500 Million Commitment to IIN and DPI

Governor J.B. Pritzker announced today he is releasing $500 million in state funding set aside for development of our Discovery Partners Institute (DPI) and Illinois Innovation Network (IIN). The significant state appropriation will support planning and construction of DPI’s permanent facility in downtown Chicago and IIN hubs at each of our three universities, on our satellite campuses in Peoria and Rockford, and at every public university across the state. We are working to break ground for DPI within 2020 and to begin construction on some IIN hubs soon.
